Okay, I know some of you are dying to know how my trip went *coughSWEEYEANcough* :D
and for those who didn't know, yes I went to Sabah for five days. In case you were wondering, yes I skipped 2 days of school to go there. Yeap just two days, but I got home and I skipped school today so that makes it three but you didn't have to know that. hah !
Right.... where do I start?
Okay we left on the 13th. Was supposed to board the plane by 1005 but the plane got delayed for TWO WHOLE HOURS !!! It was raining real bad and we were stuck in the airport for two hours.

We got there about 1545 and my brother took us to go makan ! ( Hah the 1st thing we did was makan. How Malaysian ). Then we checked in to our hotel. It's still a new hotel but guess what, the room was small !! It could only fit a queen sized bed. There was no cupboard, only a little corner with hangers where you put your clothes. The toilet was okay, clean. The only problem, the door's got no lock. heh. And you have to pay for towels, air-cond and tv if you want them. Nop, we didn't pay extra for those. We didn't need them anyway since we only used the rooms for sleeping. But the hotel costed only 30 bucks per person, so what do you expect.
The next day, we went to Manukan !! Wheeee...
Once you've seen the sea in Sabah, you'll probably never want to swim in Penang seas again. hah! The water was so clear, you could see the seabed. Corals and fishes and sea creatures. Awesome! Went snorkeling. Was really fun. Oh my mum went too. We "persuaded" her down. She was so scared she didn't want to go down the boat but yeah we made her go come down. ( persuasive psychological skills lol ) .
I got to hold a sea cucumber, spider shells, a six-legged starfish and a few other things. We fed the fishes with bread too. And I've got to taste the pain of being bitten by hungry ganas fishes. haha.

Then on Friday, we drove up to Kundasang, the foothill of Mount Kinabalu. It was so beautiful and COLD !! We went to "New Zealand" to see the cows. heheheh.

No lah actually it was a cow farm but really, doesn't it look like New Zealand?
Unfortunately, we weren't allowed to milk the cows. It would be a really neat experience if we could. =/
We makan-ed chicken butt and a local fruit they call tarap. It's like a mini cempedak, about a durian's size.
Stayed there for a night, and yeah the hotel room was bigger and better than the 1st one.
Next morning we woke up about 430 to watch the sunrise. Drove further up to a golf course resort and waited for the sun to come up. The weather was freezing cold and it drizzled a bit. The view of the sun? Mannn awesome !! And the mist WOW !!!

After that we headed back down to the hotel, had breakfast, packed up and we went to the War Memorial. It's actually a place where they remember the Australian soldiers who died in the Death March during the Japanese Occupation. They had stories on the walls for you to read about the history and stuff. Basically it's a garden just built to remember the soldiers. Out of a few hundreds I think, only six survived. How tragic =(

Then we came down from Kundasang, checked in to yet another small hotel, met up with our friend's parents, had tea together and balik ke hotel.
Sunday morning was our flight back. So basically yeah, that's about the few places we visited. Like I said before, five days didn't feel long enough. The next time, it'll probably be about a week. Hopefully.
College/Form Six better not clash with our plans next year.

I know a lot of people have the impression that Sabah is just some ulu place with jungles everywhere and no technology. NOT TRUE !! The last time I went there was three years ago and it has developed so much ever since. Really, just over three years, they now have so many new hotels and malls (1Borneo is so much better than Queensbay btw) and housing areas. I was supprised at how fast KK developped. I mean yeah, the food cannot compare to Penang, but I think I wouldn't really mind staying there someday.
Really. I love the place. What's best about the place isn't about the malls but rather about the places you can visit there. The things of nature that you see. The friendly local people. Most of the locals, they aren't rich, in fact, as I went up to Kundasang, a lot of them sells vegetables and fruits by the roadside for a living. And you can see many young teenagers working in restaurants serving food and all. They don't earn a lot but what can they do? It's how they earn a living.
I remember them as I'm back in Penang. I remember how blessed and lucky I am to have a nice comfortable home and I don't have to go out to work to earn money. Talking about the people in need, you don't even have to go to Afrika, to India to find people in need. In Malaysia itself, you see people living in poverty, people in need. It's sad isn't it?
I'd like to go back one day, and I wish that it would be on a mission trip. I want to be able to bless them and share the gospel with them. That's actually my dream.
I know, not a very nice picture of me, but whatever. Now, anyone wants to visit Sabah ?? =)More pictures up on facebook.
